Daniel Lopatin is a Brooklyn-based musician, composer, and Mercury Prize-nominated producer who also records and performs as Oneohtrix Point Never. Following on from his 2013 album R Plus Seven, Oneohtrix Point Never drops a new single 'Replica'. Opening the song are piano chords that make your hairs stand on end, buried deep in melancholia. A flute-esque synth melody alongside a fuzzy synth layer played on a Juno 06 dirty-up the otherwise clean tones. There’s something futuristic about the noisy production, but the piano reminiscent of a Miyazaki soundtrack; tranquil and ghostly. 'Replica' is the title track of Oneohtrix Point Never's new album, out now on Mexican Summer. The new album Replica is described as "sample-based meditations".
